Stress-free learning for Key Stage One maths

All humans are different, so it’s no surprise that all children are too. We learn differently and get excited by different things. If your child is struggling with maths – particularly times tables – hands-on learning could really help.

With hands-on materials and outdoor activities, your child can gain a deeper understanding while feeling less anxious and concentrating better.

Hands-on learning is an engaging way for Key Stage One children to understand maths. They learn how numbers work and also develop logic, reasoning and independence.

Imagine confidently tackling counting and times tables, or spotting shapes, while wandering through the woods. Sorting objects into groups and playing counting and matching games give plenty of chances to get creative with maths. Planting seeds and measuring how they grow brings in shape and measurement too. Hands-on learning has physical and mental benefits, boosts confidence and makes maths far more enjoyable.

So let’s embrace the outdoors as part of maths education and leave some of the desk-based learning behind. Let your child’s learning bloom without the stress.

Happy exploring!
