A beautifully illustrated set designed to introduce children to the foundations of colour in a clear and engaging way. Each wheel helps explore relationships between colours—blending, contrast, and harmony—through a gentle, nature-inspired lens.

Perfect for creative play and learning spaces, these wheels support artistic confidence while encouraging experimentation, observation, and a deeper understanding of how colours work together.

Wilded FamilyColour Resource Pack comes with one large intricately illustrated wooden colour wheel and four beautiful smaller teaching parts (all wood). Perfect for teaching children about colours and their relationships with one another. Using these tools children can learn, Mixing Colours, Colour tints, Complimentary Colours and Natural habitats. The wheel can be used as artwork when lessons are not taking place!
Whats In the Box:
Our colour wheel set comes with four interactive wheels that children can spin, line up, and explore in different ways. They’re designed to be flexible — you can use them separately or together, with one child or a group gathered around a table.

*Primary & Secondary Colours Wheel* – A simple, hands-on way to show which colours are primary and which are made by mixing them.

*Hot & Cold Habitats Wheel* – Can be used alone or with the big wheel, linking warm and cool colours to real-world habitats and animals.

*Colour Mixing Wheel* – With viewing windows so children can see what happens when black is added to a colour — red becomes a deeper red, yellow a darker ochre, and so on.

*Complementary Colours Wheel* – Shows complementary, split-complementary and triadic colour relationships in a clear, easy-to-understand way.

*The large wheel* - ties it all together, showing the whole colour spectrum alongside illustrated habitats and landscapes. It’s a springboard for bigger conversations — start with “blue,” and you might end up talking about the ocean, sea life, and even environmental science.

Like all our resources, the set is designed to spark curiosity, encourage questions, and flow across the curriculum — from art to science and beyond.

Help children discover allows them to learn how mixing different hues creates new tints as well as temperature differences between different colours. Discover, not just the colours, but their relationship to one another, their temperature and their opposites. Just looking at these beautiful illustrations and the wonderful rainbow wheel will encourage your children to experiment with what they think might happen if you combine two specific kinds together

Imagine the possibilities for your child’s creativity when they are thinking about colours in imaginative ways. When learning colour theory they are imaging what a hot colour evokes, where a cold colour can be found: With this in mind, a cross curricular approach can be taken – using the colour wheel to uncover habitats and latterly with our language add on kit. You can use the same tool to help with learning languages and sciences.

This wooden wheel is designed to grow with children as they learn from a very young age, looking and introducing simple primary, secondary and tertiary colour mixing; to older children as they investigate habitats and languages.
